WORKSHOP 1 / 1:45 PM

EMBRACING THE UPWARD CALL OF GOD.
LIVING A LIFE OF PASSIONATE DEVOTION TO JESUS.

The way to a flourishing life begins with embracing the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. The life of the Christian is a journey upward from where we are to where God is. But how do we continue to make progress in the Christian life? How do we mature? How do we keep going? This workshop will explore what the Apostle Paul calls the “upward call” in Philippians 3. He says, those who are “mature ought to think like this.” Find out how in this workshop.

Speakers: Joey Rozek, Emily Terracciano, & Dan Terracciano

GOSPEL IDENTITY AND RACE.
A CONVERSATION ABOUT APPROACHING ISSUES OF RACE FROM A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE.

Racial issues are once again dominating the national conversation in our country today. Too often, these conversations are filled with heated rhetoric and exchanges that drive people further apart, rather than being constructive dialogues that draw people closer together to forge a better future. As Christians, we believe our identity of being "in Christ" shapes our approach to racial issues. But how? Pastor Chris Pascarella and campus minister Nick Bowdin sit down together for a conversation about approaching issues of race from a biblical perspective. Rather than being captive to worldly ideologies, Chris and Nick long to see the church engage these issues with the truth of Scripture.

NOTHING LEFT TO PROVE.
HOW A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF GOSPEL IDENTITY FREES ME FROM A LIFE TRYING TO PROVE TO EVERYONE HOW AWESOME I AM!

The need to validate our worth and purpose in life is universal. But living to impress everyone or prove our worth is as exhausting as running on a never-ending treadmill—not only do you not actually get anywhere, but you eventually just give up. You were made for more! The gospel frees us from a relentless and never-ending race of self-validation. This workshop will deepen your roots in the gospel and help you to live a life that is able to rest in the love of God and experience freedom from religious performance.

WORKSHOP 2 / 3:30 PM

GOSPEL SHAPED PERSEVERANCE.
LIVING A LIFE OF RESILIENCE IN A FRAGILE WORLD.

We live in a culture that is increasingly fragile. If you disagree with me, you hate me. This is a world of bulldozer parents and political attack. The world is full of threats and it can feel like a dangerous place where the worst possible place to be is on the wrong side of history. Yet, Christians have always been on the wrong side of history. The life of the Christian is called by the Apostle Peter “elect exiles.” The question for every follower of Jesus in this generation is how do we live a life of resilience that is “steadfast and immovable,” in a world that is increasingly opposed to Christianity and is perpetually shifting and changing? This workshop will explore how the Christian flourishes by living a life of resilience in a world that is constantly shifting, shaking, and shaming those who would “make it their aim to lead a quiet life.”

EMBRACING THE DOWNWARD CALL OF CHRIST.
WHY A LIFE OF SERVICE LEADS TO TRUE FLOURISHING.

The call of God is one of upward mobility—that is moving toward godliness. But the way upward is actually first the path downward—in service. Jesus models a life of service. He says he did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many. The Savior of the world who is bestowed with the name above all names washed feet and died a slave’s death. The way of the kingdom is upside down. The way up is actually to go down. This workshop will explore why a life of service is actually the path to true flourishing and ultimate joy.

LIVE SENT. LIVING WITH GOSPEL INTENTIONALITY IN A WORLD THAT IS NOT MY TRUE HOME.

What if every day were a mission trip? Many have gone on mission trips, or considered whether God is calling them to a life of full-time missions. But have you considered that for every follower of Jesus you are sent by Jesus on His mission. Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” (John 20:21). The gospel makes us ambassadors who are called to live as Holy Spirit empowered representatives of Jesus in the world. This workshop will explore that identity and how we might live radical ordinary lives of gospel intentionality in the places that we live, work, and play.
